BIAFRA: Adekunle’s Wartime Interview With German Randolph Baumann, Of Stern Magazine August 18, 1968 In Igweocha

18 June 2010 written by Republic Report New York 90 Comments

I want see no Red Cross, no Caritas, no World Council of Churches, no pope, no missionary, and no United Nations Delegation. I want to prevent even one Igbo from having even one piece to eat before their capitulation. We shoot at everything that moves and when our troops march into the center of Igbo territory, we shoot at everything even a things that don’t move”—Benjamin Adekunle

New York [RR] Igweocha—we bring to you translation of an interview granted by Major Benjamin Adekunle of the Nigerian Army to a German Reporter, Randolph Baumann, of STERN Magazine on August 18 1968 in Igweocha. Republicreport.com wants to confirm that the patent content of this interview is the property of Stern Magazine. The interview speaks for itself. Republicreport publisher is a survival of Major Benjamin Adekunle’s war crimes against humanity. Read on.

”I have to kill the Ibos—sorry”

Stern reporter Randolph Baumann spoke with the General of the Nigerian front troops.

If you want to get to know the devil of Africa, just ask for Adekunle. He is the man who is responsible for the death of 100,000 Ibo people”. The man who provided this tip to Randolph Baumann, the Stern reporter, was Mister Ikpa, the official representative of the Republic of Biafra in Lisbon. Mister Ikpa knew even more: “Adekunle does not like journalists. He had a man from England who disagreed with him shaved bald, do an hour of push-ups, and write one-thousand times: I am a crappy Englishman and don’t have a say in Nigeria”.

Having been thus forewarned, the Stern reporter flew to Port Harcourt, a big Biafra harbor city in the midst of a swamp and in the oil field of the Niger-delta, and requested an interview from the “devil” Benjamin Adekunle.

Major Adekunle, 28-years old, General of the Nigerian troops on the South front sat enthroned behind the General’s desk of the Shell administration, which he had made into his main station when he took the Ibo-city by storm on May 18. Now he stated: “I am convinced you will report objectively and keep to our orders.” We confirmed that.

“Okay,” he beamed, “the Germans just know how war works. Tonight there is a front-party in my headquarters. You will come! An order is an order!”

This interview with the most important man in the Nigerian war took place at night. Whisky and beer were abundant, uniformed go-go girls played DJ, Adekunle danced and petted his mascot, a small mountain goat named “Ojukwu”.

STERN: Your friends in the federal government of Lagos call you the “bloodhound of Nigeria”. You are chasing a whole people. You kill everything.

ADEKUNLE: Europeans are awful. They always generalize. My troops have kept prisoners. You have had a chance to convince yourself of this.

STERN: I only saw one prisoner, a fifteen-year old boy.

ADEKUNLE: There you are! In addition I want to emphasize that we do not murder all people who no longer want to remain members of the Nigeria Federation.

STERN: Does that mean that you do not want the extinction of the Ibos?

ADEKUNLE: The nation which the Ibos founded under the name of Biafra on May 30, 1967 is not a pure Ibo-federation. You Europeans should really know that by now. Seven million Ibos and five million other population groups are living now in the 80% overpopulated Biafra: Ibibios, Ijaws, Kalabaris, Ekios, Efiks, and Annangs. These minority populations in the Ibo nation have always hated the Ibos. Therefore they jubilantly welcome the liberation of their areas through federal troops.

STERN: What are your troops doing when they march into a town around Port Harcourt, an area where most of the farmers are not Ibos?

ADEKUNLE: We aim at everything that moves.

STERN: Small children tend not to stay put for very long.

ADEKUNLE: I know. I have two myself.

STERN: What will your troops do when you get to the Ibo heartland, that is, to the place populated by Ibos only?

ADEKUNLE: There we will aim at everything even if it is not moving.

STERN: Are you racist?

ADEKUNLE: You should know exactly where racists are. There is no such thing as racism in Nigeria.

STERN: But why are you refusing to discuss this war with a European?

ADEKUNLE: Let me tell you something: When the Russians surrounded Stalingrad did you request a land corridor from them so as to better feed your soldiers who were stuck in the pot there? Of course you didn’t and I can tell from your face that you think the thought of a land corridor to bring in food for the captured German soldiers in Stalingrad is a bad joke. Me too. Where and when, …………., was there a war in which the loser was re-nourished one more time before the final loss? Why are you just calling for a land corridor for Biafra? Why aren’t you calling for a land corridor for the Viet Kong? I have to declare: You Europeans are simply not competent!

STERN: What is happening to the European Humanitarian Assistance programs which were authorized through your government?

ADEKUNLE: In the section of the front that I rule—and that is the whole south front from Lagos to the border of Kamerun—I do not want to see the Red Cross, Caritas Aid, World Church delegation, Pope, Missionary, or UN delegation.

STERN: Does that mean that the many thousands of tons of food that are stored in Lagos will never get to the refugee camps in your section of the country?

ADEKUNLE: You are a sharp one, my friend. That’s exactly what I am saying.

STERN: But you said yourself that most of the refugees in the part you captured are not Ibos.

ADEKUNLE: But there could be Ibos among them. I want to avoid feeding a single Ibo as long as this whole people have not given up yet.

STERN: Do you sometimes feel sympathy for the Ibos?

ADEKUNLE: I have learned a word from the British, which is “sorry”! That’s how I want to respond to your question. I did not want this war but I want to win this war. Therefore I have to kill the Ibos. Sorry! The End.

Even Gen. Gowon understood at that time that Col. Adekunle was a war criminal, a hater and a down right sadist. That was why Adekunle did not play any meaningful role post Biafra war. Adekenle was everything that evil represents in human form. In civilized nations, Adekunle would have been court marshalled and executed for his acts of barbarism and unprofessional conducts as a military officer, and as they relate to his thirst for Igbo blood and genocide. In my opinion, Adekunle is still elegible for trial for war crimes in the world court..

Every time I read this ..I get guidance on those agents that came across the river to put our lives out…claiming to save Ibibios, Ijaws, Kalabaris, Ekios, Efiks, and Annangs from IGBO domination. ..Which begs the question..Why do we have to care about what happened in Niger Delta ?….This will come later.

This was a page from the APO-HALL speech by Awololo and standing to this left during that speech were Bola Ige + Adesanya and to the right was Sam Aluko + Wole soyinka . The speech was right after they came back from Enugu to scam General Ojukwu ..but failed.

Awololo went to Enugu..after years of jail stint in Calabar for coup plotting against Nigeria and Tafawa Belewa. Awololo spoke several times with The General..OJUKWU. . on how to work together.also. .. had been making public statements as IGBO goes so will Yariba.
That trip to Enugu with his gang of Fraudsters was fashioned as a THANK YOU VISIT ..because IGBO moved Awololo from Kaduna jail to Calabar ..to avoid Abiola kind of jail..where he died looking for Presidency!. .In short.. a solidarity visit on all IGBO killed in the north !!………NNNooooo oo !!
    Lies..Lair Lair Lair…Sokoto on fire !!!
Do not hold your breath…Ojukwu never did..for IGBO sake !!
Awololo got Adesanya and Obas headed by Ooni of Ife who went to the opposite side,to North who jailed Awoloo… on the THANK YOU VISIT to all Emirs of the North…. for not killing Yariba while killing IGBO in the crises. !!!!!!

Then ..the groomed thugs rest took up their rightful positions as IGBO KILLERS and went to work !! these people and list are not limited to…
    Bola Ige + Sam Aluko + Wole Soyinka + Adesanya+ Adekunle + Abiola + +++++
Even after the war… Sam Aluko..the father of Bolaji Aluko, the EverReady battery man..did not stop with the war..He continued by confiscating monies on the N20 scam money exchange just to keep IGBO POOR. …but they could not account for the loot.

This made GOWAN FIRE AWOLOLO from the Military council..WHY? ???….when Awololo talked down at the only IGBO minister in the ruling council..DR JOJ OKEZIE ..after aseries of shouting matches that followed..because Dr JOJ was not INTIMIDATED. . for questioning the rational behind the money confiscation !!!
    Remember ::
It was in this meeting that he Awololo PROCLAIMED that he single handedly won the war for Nigeria and will not entertain any questions from anybody in the council especial from Dr JOJ…. This statement included GOWAN.& Murtala Mohammad who were there in the meeting..They sent Awolowo packing.
    As a side bar…
This was one of the reasons Murtala[ minister for communication] had Abiola disassociate himself from Awololo in other to continue his partnership in ITT . This started the fracture…. ….{***this was also why Abiola went after Murtala mohammeds wife as a concubine… to gain TOTAL control of ITT and other business partnerships between both..****Murlatala was rich , he looted FED Bank of MidWest***…%%remember that abiola's son they accused Murtala of being his father %%} ……THEN.. …It was the pay back time that the Awolowo group then collected when they had Abiola in jailed and Afanifere went to bed with Babangida + Abacha on June 12th. for not helping Awololo become the President.
    Back to Adekunle::::
“”"”Nigerian war took place at night. Whisky and beer were abundant,
uniformed go-go girls played DJ, Adekunle danced and petted his
mascot, a small mountain goat named “Ojukwu””"”"”
He was rude to Gowan too when he was convinced by Awolowo that they will get rid of Gowan and he Adekunle will be the Army Chief and hand over to awololo as the President. Awololo used the war as another path to RULE Nigeria without IGBO contribution. This is the man that had spend all his life in jail from before Independence till war. He was happy that IGBO was out and the SO CALLED IGBO MINORITIES will back him…surely. .they got paid with Abandoned properties !!!..NOTHING MORE !!!
They were given their brothers properties as a payment. Something they already own. Something that are already there. those things are not new !. They swindled them…gave them something that never belonged to them . They are now busy fighting off the owners NOT EVEN THE PEOPLE THAT GAVE THEM THOSE PROPERTIES!! !!

Those Ibibios, Ijaws, Kalabaris, Ekios, Efiks, and Annangs have collected BLOOD MONIES and have really shown great developments in deed more than those in IGBO LAND ..have progressed more than IGBO. They all have their rewards, HURREY !!!

Adekunle got fired by Gowan for insubordination. ..he is now a homeless drunk in Lawnson section of Surulere…. BROKE… Many do not remember that right after the war. Awolowo gave the sole contract to decongest APAPA WHARF to Adekunle. he made a ship load. No account given to any body !!. All Yariba became traders and opened shops in Ghana + Dahomey to unload those dirt cheap loot goods.
    Awololo gone
    Bola Ige robbed drug dealers
    Adesaya gone
Sam Aluko…keeps recharging his heart battery
    Adekunle ..a lawanson Ogogoro man
    Abiola…finito
Diya busy ..washing his Abada at dry cleaners.
    HOW SWEET IT IS
look at this….Adekunle danced and petted his
mascot, a small mountain goat named “Ojukwu……”"”"”" “
Guess who is left standing ?. Guess who flies around from one state to the other ?.. Guess who is the MAN?. GUESS WHO IS ALIVE !!!????!!!.
If you PROCLAIMED OJUKWU..You are SMART.!!! ….Blow you vuvuzela !!!!.

this is also to announce to those who do not know
“”"”THE DEATH OF ALL IGBO WAS OVER
    EXAGGERATED BY THOSE POWER MONGERS”"”
We are still trying to put things together. It was a set back that we are putting as back set…as a reference point.
WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR LOVE…BUT PROGRESS !!!

    Know the real story.

If the interview report is correct, General Adekunle would appear to have breached Common Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions.

    Article 3(1) is specific:

Persons taking no active part in the hostilities, including members of armed forces who have laid down their arms and those placed ‘’hors de combat” by sickness, wounds, detention, or any other cause, shall in all circumstances be treated humanely, without any adverse distinction founded on race, colour, religion or faith, sex, birth or wealth, or any other similar criteria.

    Also prohibited are:

    3 (a) violence to life and person, in particular murder of all kinds, mutilation, cruel treatment and torture;

    (c) outrages upon personal dignity, in particular humiliating and degrading treatment;

On the face of it, Adekunle does not seem to be overly constrained by this rule of humanitarian law. So, it cannot be said that his work was well done.

The protection of the civilian population in an armed conflict is a fundamental principles of the rules and customs of war.

General Benjamin Adekunle did not start any war,;he merely fought in it. He did his job and did it well. He was a brave Yoruba soldier that Ojukwu wished was on his side. When General Adekunle was swinging through the forest striking fear into the feeble minds of biafra toy soldiers, Lt. Col. Ojukwu was busy worrying about not getting regular manicure and pedicure. It was not General Adekunle's fault that Lt. Col. Ojukwu was a poor military strategist and a poor leader.

General Adekunle is the best ever military genius Africa has ever produced. He should be celebated rather than being abused.

Adekunle..Kill every IGBO to give up !!

why kill the igbos when we know that we need you to do our dirty jobs? makes no
sense ! we saved your lives to make sure we have enough manpower for our cassava
farms, purewater peddling, and cargos for empty prison cells! we are not
killers, we are business men! lol rotf!

  • vincent modebelu

why kill the igbos when we know that we need you to do our dirty jobs? makes no
    sense …………Igwe Gemologist

    Igwe gemologist

You have finally gotten to the root of the matter. The real ingredient in Ishiewu….the thing that caused the killing of IGBO..the reason yoruba sold out south…..why Sam Aluko+ Adesanya + Bola Ige + Abiola +++ did what they did .

now… Remember.. that the children of these killers are in these forums ..be careful. Sleep with one eyes open.

Here we go for your answer……..Are you ready !

**Yoruba killed IGBO to fulfill the Presidential Ambitions of Awololo !!**

When Awololo was jailed …IGBO released him from Calabar.
He quickly realized that if he deceives IGBO..that Nigeria without IGBO will be GOOD FOR HIS PRESIDENCY SCAM ….that had landed him in jail more than 4 times earlier.

He pulled some switch-o-las …. with…… DUBAI in the creeks promises.
[1] He told Gen Ojukwu that Yoruba will join IGBO but was false.
[2] They brought Banjo to join Biafra as their man in Biafran army…they disowned him.
[3] They told Ijaws, Kalabaris that the BIG BAD WOLF IGBO is gone for ever and gave
them IGBO houses as abandoned properties..Called them Rivers State.
[4] They told Ekios, Efiks, and Annangs that BIG BAD WOLF IGBO was suffocating them
    then called them Cross River

these NEW NON- IGBO were all granted FAKE INDEPENDENCE FROM THEMSELVES they are still looking forward to realizing. !!!.. Some has gone as far as:-:
    [a] changing their IGBO names
    [b] Changing IGBO spellings
[c] Called themselves runaway slaves from Oba of Benin
[d] some claimed to be Cameroon and the got bakassi.
All these to distance themselves from their hated shadow .
……and are still having problems doing it.
**They just realized that they gave away their Land as Bakassi
while helping Blockade IGBO in starvation drive.
** They realized that THEY wanted the OIL not the welfare of
the INDEPENDENT NON-IGBO subgroup liberated from the WOLF.
Then Awololo went through the rest of the plans that are now in the open as PUBLIC DISGRACE and manipulation of the people.,

GUESS WHO ELSE TRIED THIS SCAM ..yep……..ABIOLA !!

When Abiola ran into trouble with Abacha..whom he thought was going to play ball with him…but Abacha did not
So.. Abiola reached out to Mr Keneath Soro ndu Nwaiwu aka Sero Wiwa to join him that he will create three states out of Rivers fo him..Ikwere + Ogoni + Ijaw. !!! Do not forget that Rivers then had the largest number of LG areas in the nation. Every village was a LG area. Ken WIWa joined Abiola and abused Abacha…but KEN Some how forget that ABACHA was his handler during the war that also gave him protection and authority to enforce his domination in the Rivers states.THEY KNEW EACH OTHER. It was ABIOLA who paid for KEN WIWA Lawyers….but Abacha still did his deeds. the rest is present day history.

I seriously doubt it if any of these NEW INDEPENDENT NATIONS aka SUBGROUPS FROM IGBO are doing better than IGBO with their NEW FOUND FRIENDS.
HHHmmmmmm..why form MEND ?!… they are in Utopia !!!

Sure..IGWE Germologist…The killing of IGBO as a part of the scam was uncalled for. Even the OBAS were sent to NORTH .on a THANK YOU TRIP.

We are not re-writing HISTORY but writing the truth down for other to read. people can not write with authority with a lot of untold stories. Every BODY was against the BIG BAD WOLF IGBO..THE WOUNDED LION..He has recovered..but..has not made his presence known yet…but..but..but..The words in the street are that
    [1] IGBO is back
[2] IGBO owns all lands in Abuja
    [3] IGBO wants new roads
    [4] IGBO owns Alaba International
[5] IGBO are ministers and Super Ministers
[6] IGBO might be president in 2015…if if …if..if..we stick to zone..enemies want it
scrapped.. to hurt IGBO come back
    SO…..
Killing IGBO by Yoruba ,,shoot every thing that moves..starve every one ..bomb hospitals with children..give away their lands as in bakassi…Give away their houses as abandoned properties were not the way to go.

The Lion King was wounded…the light minded ran away!!.. sold out..switched sides..
many changed names…disowned their father… sold their inheritance……but with the demize of the Lion King greatly exagerated…..there are now fingers pointing….losers have dug in their hills to defend the indefensible…….. too much uneasy on the extent of recovery of the LION KING.
The LION they tried to restrict is now the CHIEF CABAL that installed the new President.
The Lion they tried to restricts now roams other KINGDOMS with EZEIGBO in place.
Enemies are marrying LION children of LION to show solidarity and Homage.
    ALL IN GREAT ANTICIPATION.

Concluding the conclusion……Awolololo never made it to the presidency with out IGBO.
He realized that ..He even came to campaign in IGBO-LAND without shame but was ran out of town.
HE DIED a MISERABLE fellow with unfulfilled dream without IGBO.

some people might jump in here. I am watching FIFA 2010 ..blowing my VUVUZELA.

We will give them N20, make most of them useless in lagos. Their land will be unliveable due to crime we will generate. This N20 naira will be used to train their daughters who will in turn train my Yoruba kids. You know their women hate their men and their men hate themselves. Do you know that today 60 percent of Igbo medical doctors and Phd holders that are women are married to Yoruba men check it out. We are keeping count. This is because Ibo men hate, I mean hate themselves to the core.

If the reverse were the case, I don't think Madiebo would have fed a Federal soldier. I just cant fathom why these sore losers, will not look up NORTH to the HAUSA that whoop their behind. Foolish people. The Russians did not create a corridor for the Germans…in fact the RUSSIANS made the Germans walk from Moscow to SIBERIA as punishment. A journey which took a whole year or more. The IBO soldiers after their surrender should have been made to walk from PortHarcourt to Kano and back to Enugu and disbanded.

First, my hope is that this interview is fabricated. The utter inhumanity of those assertions, if ever made, and the notion that a serving officer would say 'We aim at everything that moves' may seem credible to print if you were racist and reporting about an officer of a savage and primitive people.
It does not seem credible to me, no matter how savage our 'civil' war in Nigeria was!

This is an ndigbo site. You have never see anything good in other tribes. especially.Yorubas. Infact your site is Anti-Yoruba

“I have to kill the Ibos”. End of story. Just kill them. Period. Is anybody listening? Where the hell are the Godly Yorubas I read all over the internet. Your own would never have expressed this collective sentiment any better. How revealing!!

Yoruba people should know that as internet gets to every corner in Nigeria, Igbo youths will read their history and cross check with their fathers. Today Middle belt youths do not believe the lies fed to their fathers against Igbo people by Hausa/Fulani. They are fighting it out with the Fulanis to day. As Fulanis are not black Africans one day Nigeiran Black majority except their new Yoruba servants will team up and fight them as they are causing everywhere. Black Nigerians will have to watch against the tribe that is inherent back stabber, you know I mean! Igbo people should wake up to undecleared war the Yourbas are waging against them. Yoruba minister of Aviation seized money meant for Enugu International Airport till he was questioned by Sen Ekweremadu and David Mark why seize the money? His answer was “Enugu is not important to Nigerian Economy, that the money should be returned to the federal government”, another Adekunle in the making. Bankole stole billions and Nigerian press are talking about his visit to pupils to make him look good. Yoruba controled press think that the masses are uneducated. When IBB comes in, your strangle hold on Nigerian press will be released. You bought the SUN news paper that used to tell us about police brutality against Igbo people but since you took over even crimes against Igbo people happening in your face are not reported, we are watching with interest and discussed in bar all over. The more the world hate the Jews, the stronger they become, equally the more Nigerians hate the Igbos the stronger and mystifing they become. IGBO PEOPLE PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR MOTHERS or SISTERS TO RUN OUR FAMILY a step to our being stronger. All these Igbo women that Nigerian are presenting to represent us has to be questioned. Igbos are not a matriachial society only that we respect our sisters and mothers more than any tribe in Nigeria. A woman cannot train a man only a man can train a man. From the reponse given by all these Yoruba people you can see their unrepentant hatred against thier fellow Southerner, the Igbo man. They should make no mistake Edward Heat, Alexiv Kosygn, Harold Wilson and the then Canadian, the then US secreatry of state and Australian Head of States, all racists against a blackman are all dead. This time it will in truth MLK's “leave the African to sort it out by themselves”. An Oduduwa intelligence who went to Togo in the nineties to tell the Togolize that Igbos are profitiers but when they started to kill he was the first victim. They tried it in the South but it did not work. We have a triving Igbo community that is again the envy of the natives. Igbos youths should activate our Biafran intelligence to challenge this Oduduwa clidestine hatrad of our people, enough of this nonsense.

  • Songo

The more i read about winny ibo internet warriors, i wish adekunle was real and did wipe out all ibo’s,,,or at least the sore losing dunces running around talking trash about a fearsome god like warrior. if ibos were not so stupid and cowards, they would learn how to be courageous and fearsome, from ADEKUNLE INCASE, they had to war again. I know he must be hated by ibo, without him, the goat would have marched all the way to Lagos through Ore, and put Gowan on firing squad. The boastful ibo would then be insufferable for 150 years. YOU LOST! GROW UP. If you hate nigeria victory Adekunle gave so much piss off somewhere else.

  • Friday Nwokie

As you approve of General Adekunle’s actions and activities, that is how the Yorubaman continues to see the Igbos – it is no differenttoday. How I wish that General Adekunle’s racial and hatefu spirit ended with him.

  • Friday Nwokie

Mr. Kolawole, you are right for being sincere and patriotic. But I would like for you to take stock and come to minds with the implications of your words dished out to the whole world. This is the 21st Century, when we should expect a lot wisdom from present-day Nigerians. Be civil and sensible.

  • Demmy_ekundayo

The evils of men live after them goes the saying, but I wish to assure you that the evils of Benjamin Adekunle still continue to live with him, he leads a miserable life in Ibadan, with no family, and his daughter, the only know member of his family dying a senile miserable woman..its interesting to note that the woman in question was married to OBJ. I mean Ltee major Moji Obansanjo, the late chairman of Masses Movement of Nigeria. Let all blood thirsty goons in the country learn from this.

  • Ayoola Oke

There is a saying that those who hate war the most are the Generals that have fought wars; yet them must do what they have to do. War is a situation where you do unto others what you do not want them to have a chance to do to you. Therefore wars is UNHOLY and there is nothing romantic or justified on war fronts. The HOLY BOOK in the opposite of war has this to say: Matthew 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Sorry! The End.

Comment: To judge Adekunle you have to directly contrast his goal with the goals of the Igbo commanders like Achuzia (a fine soldier not the best on the Biafran side and the way he taught Muritala Muhammed military tactics at Asaba) Hillary Njoku etc. You also need to listen to the Midwestern Ibo as to what they suffered in the hands of Biafra soldiers during their thrust to Benin and then what they also suffered in the hands of Muritala Muhammed on his march to Asaba, because he considered them Ibos.

Geneva Convention is bull, even those who made it have consistently broken it! Hiroshima and Nagasaki is just one of the a point in reference. There is no honourable way to fight a war…

The HOLY BOOK in the opposite of war has this to say: Matthew 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Sorry!

There is no honourable way to fight a war…

i agree with you, it is better not to start a war than to live through it. the igbo’s invaded (infact it was victor banjo who over ran the mid west and handed it over to the igbo’s who abused the Edo’s there, even the Oba of benin had to complain to colnel banjo who complained to ojukwu but eventually he was betrayed by the same ojukwu) please the igbo’s (rather all the poor commentators) should let sleeping dogs lie and rather stop killing each other kidnapping each other and using each other for ritual, and rather develop ideologies that are not based on materialism, but sound nationalistic or rather moral grounds

    thank you.

Don’t be so rash as to judge all yorubas by the mere comment of one. What about the comments made by ekundayo and folorunsho (above)? Young as you all are NEPOTISM is deeply entrenched in your minds! It’s pathetic! The yorubaman this, the iboman that, the hausaman all that, YOU ALL HAD BETTER WAKE UP, THE FUTURE IS PASSING YOU BY, OUR LEADERS ARE FILLING BANK ACCOUNTS FOR THEIR UNBORN GENERATIONS AND Y’ALL ARE HERE MAKING NEPOTISTS COMMENTS. OJUKWU, ADEKUNLE, IBB, OBJ HAVE ALL BEEN THERE AND DONE THIERS. WHAT ARE Y’ALL DOING?!!!

  • Layi

    Shocking comment!!

  • Ame_andrews

At war, what was Adekunle suppossed to do? Shower his ‘enemies’ the Ibgo with love? If he had been fighting the Fulanis, or the Egyptians, would he have been a hero? Please guys, ask yourself the right questions, see yourselves as Nigerians and move past the war that is almost as old as Nigeria. Let bye gones be bye gones. If another war is needed to split Nigeria, lets focus on the new issues and start the war. If we intend to move on as one, forget the past and start building a new nation!

  • Bolaj70

    Hello, Dipo

Your response in regards to General Adekunle’s utterances, malicious intent, and conducts during Nigeria/Biafra war, is utterly unreasonable and immature. So, some of what he said and does is absolutely right according to your judgement, to me, is embarassing. In a civilized society, he would have been punished accordingly for such deeds. Because he did not follow part of the code of conduct instituted for the combatants to observe during actions. Being a courageous soldier does not mean he should lack humane behaviour.

  • Survive Oka

Many people have been defending Adekunle regarding his brutal actions during the tragic civil war. These forget that there are always rules of engagement in any way. Military officers who spend years in training do not spend all these years just to lean the act of killing and become killing machines. the purpose of their training is also to teach them these rules of engagement and how to treat innocent civilians who are not fighting as well as captured and surrendered soldiers. My prayer is that God will try Adekunle and every other person who violated all the laws, and if they are innocent, the Supreme Judge will set them free. If they are guilty, He definitely knows what He should do. I hope that all these people are as enthusiastic to face this Judge as they were during their fighting days.

  • Sanusibashir

Buki – i like your response! If all Nigerians would think the way you reason, all these ethnic sentiments would just stop. Think of what your positive contributions to Nigeria would be instead of wasting time hating one another. Regards, Sanusi Bashir

Nigerians, let us lean from this… Nobody wins in war. Someone will always lose a loved one. I’ve known of Gen. Adekunle’s excesses from stories and books (even the Yoruba town of Ore in present Ondo State will not forget him), and I’m not surprised to read this. We must not play ostrich. The lesson here is that we should not encourage war. The politicians that started the war did not die; the soldiers that fought the war did not starve to death. The main victims were the helpless ones who couldn’t care more or less if they were Biafran or Nigerian. A big shame! Adekunle was of the school of taught that one’s enemy is one’s friend’s enemy. He considered himself a professional soldier, and was not willing to give room for the enemy to out-fight him. Awo was the proponent of the starvation policy, but Adekunle was the tool used. He did not feature prominently in Nigerian politics before or after the war, not because Gowon saw him as an animal (Gowon was as much an animal!) but because he (Adekunle) was not interested in politics. Most war crimes are covered up when the criminal’s side wins. Let us not pretend it never happened. Adekunle did not act alone.

  • Nigerian.like.it.or.not

Friday, pls do not mind Dipo Eniola. He probably was born after the war (I was too). We grew up learning of Adekunle asa hero, but a man must dig deep, if he must be a good student of history. student of history learns not to make the same mistake. Dipo has learnt nothing. I grew up in a cosmopolitan area, with Easterners and Northerners. They are my closest friends till date. My uncle died in the Casino bombing (my grandmum never recovered from the shock, because her other son died at war in Nsukka). I don’t hate Ojukwu for fighting dirty by using the mercenaries who dropped the bombs. In my opinion, he did what he could to win the war. Unfortunately, I still see a Nigeria that is not ready to become “untribalised”, so that we can all take advantage of our strengths. Dipo is not the only guilty one.

  • Your Conscience

You are a big fool, you saw the pictures of impoverished women & kids and you have the guts to pend your spineless comments, i have yoruba friends and i will not belittle myself and insult an entire race/tribe. I know you are obviously a big loser in life, who wants to live vicariously through the maniac Gen. Adekunle.

Restating from my post on http://www.AwakeToAfrica.com @ http://www.awaketoafrica.com/2011/01/03/president-obama-to-engage-more-with-africa-in-2011/
    —————————————————————————————————
Well, I hope all these helps address real issues for true democratically elected government that Deeply INSPIRES, EMPOWERS and MOTIVATES the PEOPLE. Why are some well known Nigerians from the North today are threatening the presidential race; the 2011 elections by the way? Is it anybody’s Birthright?

This reminds me yet again of the case of Abiola, Dele Giwa, Saro Wiwa and many others. Nothing happened after all said and done. People need to RECALL, REMEMBER, and wake up. Ojukwu won’t say a word anymore. It cannot be overemphasized again, the likes of “Ojukwu”, who unsuccessfully tried to fix the REAL issues of Nigeria Biafran War no one wants to, or is afraid to TALK about, or bring to the surface. The country is still living in its past and past ways! That is the biggest problem.

There are many FEARLESS ones who will TALK about these on the table of negotiation and for “Peace”. These other ones have acquired more than enough OIL WEALTH ($$$$$$$$$$$$) ever since then… for more than 30, 35-45 years, with graduates roaming the streets without jobs. I recall my uncles getting hired for good long term permanent career positions with secondary school/high school certs, plus …housing+family care and other educational training and benefits etc… back in the day even long after the oil boom.

All nations or countries have these unique issues today, then there are very common ones in politics. The system can no longer be trusted by the new generation. Nigeria for example has bluntly refused to address and HEAL from issues of the past that is tormenting it today. The new Warfare using Terrorism politically, is the new Global War, but it is the Political Strategy used these days. In the case of Nigeria.. it needs be addressed side by side the NIGERIAN BIAFRAN WAR all over again, that the country needs and must to heal from.

People seem to forget quickly, again- Niger Delta issues, Oil, Nigerian Biafran War, Militants, Terrorism, Abiola, Dele Giwa, Saro, Gani, Ojukwu, Nzeogwu, you name them …has to be talked about. Ojukwu signed not to talk about Biafra anymore, but not others. That archaic law or command and control situation needs to be abolished.

Again, “There has been lots of threat from some well known figures in the Northern Nigeria on 2011 elections and the presidential race. Why is that? Who’s Birthright is it?”

It is about time to go back to the “Drawing Board” analyze, talk and negotiate these issues. If anyone wants to fight and/or Terrorize instead.. Well, ..the way the world works… They get what they ask for. Someone, will have no idea, who will give it to them.

That has always been the case.

~Inspired by “The Parable of the Sower”- “Then Jesus said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.” ~Mark 4:9

    BOTTOM LINE:

These are still issues holding Nigeria back that it needs to heal from… past grievances, hurts, pain, betrayals, trust, obsession-power, money (pls add yours…….). People getting each other “wacked” when they turn their back. Nigeria can use some forgiveness and a truly democratically elected government.. Inspiring, Empowering and Motivating the people- It is not an easy “LEADERSHIP” call… What are other thoughts in this direction?

  • http://twitter.com/ifeanyiasonye Ifeanyi O Asonye

Do we remember the IBB’s Ernest Shonekan transitional government that lasted only three months through a coup by General Sani Abacha, that might just be the case with Goodluck Jonathan if care is not taken. No they did not make enough from OIL yet getting each other “wacked” when they turn their back…

DO YOU KNOW THAT THIS ADEKUNLE WAS ACTUALLY BEATEN UP BY HIS OWN DEPUTY DURING THE WAR BECAUSE OF ADEKUNLE’S BRUTALITY TOWARDS THE IBOS?
OBASANJO WAS SENT TO REPLACE HIM BECAUSE IT WAS FEARED THAT ADEKUNLE COULD BE KILLED BY HIS OWN MEN DUE TO THEIR PERCEPTION THAT HE WAS A WAR CRIMINAL. THIS IS A FACT!

  • Feil

Yorubas did not agree to secede with igbos. igbos were intent on breaking away. Everybody else wanted to stay together.

Igbos bombed lagos killing people. how can you call us your friend , then you bomb lagos.

  • Ochionu

Checked the internet for another source of this interview but found it in only pro Ibo website. Knowing Nigerians very well, I can not believe this story until I read it from a neutral source. I can read German so if anyone with original transcript should please give me the link.

  • Ogwu Anya

Udenze do you have N20 at all? to feed your self let alone  give to an lgbo person.?You talk about crime what about your area boys in Lagos? Upon all your so called Awolowo free education lgbos are still more educated than your so called Yorubas. This is the same mistake you people always make that igbo women hate their men. Infact both Yoruba men and women are always looking for lgbo people to marry them bec. they know that we take care of our wives and husband unlike Yoruba men who behave like fish marry a wife while at the same time having children every where. Infact Yoruba people are generally dity even here in Europe they always carry their water bottle when ever they enter the toilet.  Shame on you .You can put a lipstick on a pig but is still a pig. You said 60% of Igbo medical doctors and Phd holders marry Yoruba men i will like to see  that your data or is it what you read in those lazy gossip idle newspapers or do you mean 60% of Yoruba men are begging Igbo women to marry them? This is exactly what i mean when i say  that Yoruba people always have complex when ever they see an Igbo people. How can an Igbo man hate his brother? keep dreaming. Next time before you open that your dirty mouth to insult an Igbo person think twice.

I really do not know  why you Yoruba’ s are so short sighted. You talk about killing and kidnapping each other. Where did kidnapping  and taking of childern  for rituals started in nigeria? of course in Yoruba land. I was born in Lagos but bec. of  kidnapping of children for rituals  by Yoruba people, my  father decided to send us down  to the eastern part of Nigeria to continue our education. My case was not alone so many parents send their off spring down to the east and now you open your dirty mouth to call Igbo`s names. When ever you have time, travel to the east to see development. We Igbo`s do not wait for Federal revenue  or hand outs to develop our states like you do in your so called Yoruba land. We are hard working people. Without the Igbos in your so called Lagos you people will starve to death. Have you ever heard about Alaba International was it built by a Yoruba? NO. but by an Igbo enterprise wait as soon as  Enugu is made international airport among other things then we shall see who laugh`s last. Sit down there and continue to dance your Owambe  lazy people for whom the God Bless  no one can do anything. Your so called Governor Fashola  may be doing well bec. of the heavy  tax levy on Igbo  business men. For your information Lagos was developed by Igbos when it was  Nigerian capital and you don`t expect us to leave our investment  for you people to enjoy our labour. Just  try and visit  the east and see for your self . Upon all your so called Awolowo free education Igbo`s are still more educated their the Yoruba`s. You people do not even have anything to be proud off. That you people even have food to eat thanks to the Igbo`s   that brings yam, cassava etc. to your door steps yet you open your dirty mouth to talk rubbish  about my people .A word is enough for a wise.

Mr Kolawole Suji, pls go tru this comment of yours again “ I just cant fathom why these sore losers, will not look up NORTH to the HAUSA that whoop their behind”

In Nigeria today who is looking up to those almajeris other than the yorubas whose brothers (Abiola, Bola Ige, Onagoruwa’s son etc) were killed by the malams. Still Bola Tinubu could field a mallam(Nuhu Ribadu) to represent the yorubas in the 2011 Presidential race.Yorubas are known as Cowards that is true. The mallams slotted in your brother Obasanjo. True?  Ojukwu could sustain the fight for his people for three years. how long did Abiola sustain the fight for presidency? Idiot answer me.

Kolanut, tell me: aside Lagos state that was developed by the Federal govt. tell me one yoruba state that is better than any Ibo state. who are the Losers?
The Ibos were killed, defrauded of their money in the bank by Awo. Their properties were seized but they came back and today tell me a street in Lagos that u cant find an Ibo man. Who are the losers.

Awo died begging for presidency. Shonekan was employed to be the President and was later sacked. Abiola died begging for ” my mandate oooo”.  I am not an Ibo man. but i do love them. Give an Ibo and a yoruba man 5000each. In five years ask for their credit balance. you know d answer. If u are not married u better look for an Ibo woman to marry so that the brave,  industrious and productive nature of the ibos will enter you family before u people will eat amala and fart the whole street brown.

  • Odua1

you are an ignorant man. Your hatred for the Yoruba’s is funny. The truth is, the ibos got what they deserved. They had been strategizing for eons..way before independence. If you go through military records, you will note that 50% of the officer corps of the Nigerian Army were ibos….It was not by chance, it was preplanned. Awo, preindependence did not want a united Nigeria…it was Zik that argued for one…why? becaus he thought he, and his ibo’s could control the whole shabang. When the ibo’s planned the 1st coup, they killed the no1 Northern General and no.1 northern politician…same with General Ademulegun and Akintola…but then you left your kown..Agunyin Ironsi..and Zik (who pretended he didnt know what was going on and left for the U.K on some bogus medical check up). What did you think the North was going to do? take it sleeping? Remember they made up about 70% of the recruits. Then they strike back and the Ibo’s now say “we are going, they are killing us”. The thing with the ibo’s is that they ALWAYS underestimate thier oponents, do not think past thier noses most of the time and they are quick to act (they are now getting better at this i must add). As per the yoruba backstabbers, they had to go with who they were comfortable with, unfortun8ly. And they are not cowards…because THEY WON THAT WAR for the federation. We are just more cunning…but do not ever think it as a sign of weakness. Thier is a popular saying..if you hands are not strong enough to wield a cutlass, do not ask ”who killed my father”. Left to the North alone, thye probablly would have bundled it! In hindsight, maybe the Yoruba’s should have just stayed out of it..but, what has happened has happend. As per Adekunle being genocidal…FUCK all ya’all..if it was an Ibo man, he’d have done worse! IBO’s played thier hands and they LOST. Finish

Even though the main protagonists in the Biafran war were Ibos and Hausa-Fulanis, the Yorubas who were mere footnotes in the conflict were most hateful and bloodthirsty against Ibos even more than the Hausa-Fulanis for inexplicable reasons.

Example, when Northern soldiers captured Enugu during the war, they left it unscarthed. But once the Nigerian 2nd army made up of mainly Yorubas arrived Onitsha, the first thing they did was to set the market ablaze with the content!

Throughout southern Biafra, Yoruba soldiers led by Adekunle and others would reduce Ibo cities into rubble by indiscriminate shelling with heavy field guns supplied by Britain and Mig 17s from USSR. It was a Yorubaman Gbadamosi king who committed the ultimate abomination of shooting down a Red Cross plane in 1969 apparently on the instruction of Obasanjo, another Yoruba (ref: My Command).

Yourubas were the authors of punitive post war policies against Ibos including 20pounds policy, indigenization decree, revenue formula, boundary adjustment, import prohibitions, abandoned property etc.

What Adekunle said is therefore not surprising. If you review internet postings about Biafran war, you would find that those justifying mass starvation, shooting of non-combatants etc. are all yorubas. They would always claim that it was a war situation but they forget about the rules of war set out in the Geneva Convention of 1949.  Also those gloating about the war and defeat of Ibos are always Yourubas. You would hardly hear a northerner gloat about that war.

The above raises serious questions about the hidden intention of the Yorubas before and after that war which neeed to be answered by careful, painstaking analysis.

Well said. Our looters sorry “leaders” do not discrimate tribes when looting this country and this is why they are getting away with this dastardly act. We should leave the tribal path if we are to succeed as a country.

While I outrightly condemn the bestiality of Benjamin Adekunle in war times , I do not agree with Iwedi in his generalisation on the Yorubas who hold the Igbos in high esteem. With your assertions and conclusion, it may not be difficult to conclude that you will not make a good leader even among your people.Casting aspersions at the Oduduwa race does not create a room for intellectual discussions on politics in Nigeria.I wonder if Iwedi knows that Adekunle went into that war with a clearly different agenda from Army headquarters in Lagos, hence his withdrawal from the front.

  • bright andrew

I appreciate your words but remember that many of the people that committed war crimes against the igbos are mainly yorubas like  francis asaid in asaba, major daramola and the other one that massacred all the males in oguta.murtala mohammed is mentioned is asaba because he was the goc but the field officer that massacred with lunatic passion were mainly yorubas.  igbos and yorubas had a strong social interaction before the civil war but it was unfortunate that they did not consider it but just focused on the benefits the deaths of igbos will give to them.

  • http://www.facebook.com/olukoya.adekanle Olukoya Adekanle

Bright, I really sympathize with the Igbos on the genocide between 1967 and 1970.That some elements in the West had no principle then does not mean that the rest are same.Wole Soyinka spent a better part of the war years in prison because he was fighting for justice for the Igbos.Only God knows the number of Igbos the late Tai Solarin kept at his expanse Mayflower school in Ikenne during that period at the risk of his life, one of them later grew up to become a soldier and rose to the rank of a Brigadier In later years. My grandfather kept a lot of Igbos in our interior village during the war some of which we still maintain contacts today.Ilived in Eastern Nigeria for over a decade and enjoyed the spirit of one Nigeria. The problem with Nigeria is not tribal but greed of a few who most times wipe up tribal sentiments to destabilise the country…..but I can bet you, the wicked will never go unpunished.A lot of those that committed the inglorious act  in war time were later killed in the bloody coup of 1976 while the rest are living wretched lifes today.

Adekanle,i like some of the examples you mentioned about the positive side of some yoruba people during the war but you must remember that among all the conspirators that stabbed Caesar,he only mentioned et;uu Brutus because he never expected Brutus to stab him and that made it more painful and hard to heal.before the war, igbos and yorubas were like one family brought together by their common interest in western education and other progressive values that enhances human and community developments but when it mattered most for it to count, the yoruba leadership just like the Jewish masses went with banarbass instead of JESUS[TRUTH].

After the war,the yorubas continue to use policies to humiliate the igbos hiding under the political leadership of the hausa fulanis.Mbazulike Amechi and some igbos leaders went to Awo to help us in the abandoned property issue and he told them to deposit two million pounds knowing fully well that he seized all our money but just to mock us more.Awo’s wife was receiving ministerial salary from eastern region when he was in prison and mazi Ukaonu risked his life to announce action group’s version of the western region result when Awo was in prison.we did not expect it from someone we risked our life to make relevant when akintola and some northerners wanted to make him irrelevant by all means and that is why we will always say like Caesar et;uu yorubas.the obas professors and all men and women that claims to be custodians of good conscience kept quiet while we are dying in millions where as some Hutu moderate spoke out in favor of Tutsi during the Rwandan genocide,we did not hear of any yoruba moderate except uncle Wole Soyinka, does it mean that all yorubas became genocide apologist upon their vast acclaimed education?

  • freedom7899 frdgggom

the most stupid ignoramus moron i have ever heard of, did you call genosiide war fools, why are those people that killed many hutu civilians still being hunted and caged in prison, is it not because of genoside, ofe mmanu bastard pikin

  • Ejealekwu

Common guys, its a war situation. I still can’t find what made Adekunle a devil here. This should rather be for the new generation war mongers who would stop at nothing but bring us to a civil war again.

  • Chidi

Mr Oke, Geneva convention (1948) was after the 2nd world war mostly in response to the atrocities of the 1st and 2nd world wars.

Having said that, you are free to be stupid. It is easy to reason that you can kill any body in cold blood in time of war (even for innocent souls that had never crossed the boundaries of their villages in those days) because you retain the warped mindset that you will always win the war. What if for any reason you are at the receiving end? And there is no UK, USSR, Egypt and all Arab countries to fight for you by proxy?

  • Adekanleolukoya

Some moderate Hutus condemned the Killings of the Tutsis in Rwanda.Yes I agree.I also agree that some  prominent Yorubas failed to stand up against tyranny but they are not a fair representation of the Yoruba nation. When Biafran troops were coming to over run what was known as the seat of power in Lagos , there was a stop- over in Ore.They were warmly received and many of them lived among the people till the end of the war…. but get this , the military might was the exclusive preserve of the Northern Oligarchy then and they were ready to use the machinery of the state to annihilliate any opposition particurlarly the Yorubas. You also need to know that the Yorubas were living in fear because the monster was living within (Lagos) .That must have been the major challenge.I salute the courage  and resilience of the Igbos that fought the war .I salute their sense of industry in turning the scrap of twenty pounds to big business empires today. We only need to work as one and promote things that bind us together as a people.Nothing happens by accident. We are destined to be together by the Most High.

Where is Adekunle today?? Somewhere in some street in hell. He that killed by the sword must die by the sword but if he escapes the sword he will definitely won’t escape sudden death or brief illness. ALL DIE BE DIE.

  • Amaechi

I am an Ibo and will remain so till the end of time. I also was a fighter in the Biafran Armed Forces for the entire period of the struggle: I was 15 years old when Adekunle besieged my place of birth, Port Harcourt on the early Morning of May 15, 1968, and for the next 3 days and nights, rocketed and shelled the City relentlessly and indiscriminately. 3 months later, I joined the Biafra Air Force as a voluntary recruit: I had to lie about my age to be accepted. I am a witness to the atrocities committed by Adekunle in Port Harcourt.    However, Bright and Olukoya, you are both correct.  I understand exactly what Bright is saying because the pain of the betrayal of a close friend is most hurtful but the betrayal of a close relative, as the Ibos and Yorubas supposedly were, could be quite devastating and quite possibly unforgivable: Awolowo was released from his Calabar prison by Ojukwu with the understanding of him declaring the Republic of Oduduwa alongside the Biafran declaration of Independence. Awolowo reneged on that deal, hence people like Adekunle were made possible. Yet, it would be uncharitable to tar the entire Yoruba people with the same broad brush as that used in the case of Adekunle and bastards like him. We Ibos must not forget what Nnamdi Azikiwe did to the fledgeling Biafran nation.  He abandoned Biafra following the Ahiara Declaration, fearing that Biafra would become a Marxist/Leninist State but nothing could be farther from the truth of what Ojukwu intended. By scurrying away to save his hide, Azikiwe did as much damage to the Biafran cause as any could have because being the most recognizable Nigerian alive at that time, maybe Biafra could have garnered more international support for our cause.  I hope people are taking note of what Okorocha of Imo and Amaechi of Rivers States are doing in those two States and note that maybe here is what Biafra could have become. I am sure the British  and the Americans and Canadian and Russians are very pleased with themselves with regard to the state of affairs in the North and the advent of the Boko Haram.  This is what they have spawned by goading the Hausa/Fulani Oligarchs into destroying the State that was Biafra rather than declare their own Arewa State as they originally intended following the July 16, 1966, military Coup, supposedly led by Yakubu Gowon, who couldn’t tell which end of his person he was standing on on his best days.  My point is that we, the Ibos, now know who friends are, who to trust and who not to because, we have fought our own fight and it was a good fight.  Now, let the Yorubas fight their own fight, if they dare, and when they do, then that will be the day that the Ibos will begin to see the Yoruba in a completely different light.  Talk is cheap, it is the doing to support the talk that makes a people what and who they are.

  • Amaechi

Never gonna happen again.  Where were you when the Ibos were being exterminated by your people and the hausas?  Like I said in earlier post, it is now your turn to put up or shut the heck up.  Cowards!

  • Amaechi

Ibos do not hate anyone.  How many Yorubas and Hausas have we massacred since 1914 when the North, East and West were amalgamated into one so-called Country, Nigeria?  All the Ibos have wanted was to be left alone. But you Yorubas and Hausas won’t leave us alone.  You always blame every ill that befalls Nigeria on us. Neglecting to acknowledge your laziness and ineptitudes  I saw video of Ahmadu Bello in which he said that when he became premier of the north in 1964, he instituted the rule that every important post in the North must be occupied by a northerner since all these posts were occupied by Southerners, especially Ibos and Yorubas.  His stupidity and inbred sectarianism blinded him to the fact that at thta time the most educated and highly trained civil servants were from the south. You must stop blaming the Ibos.

Please when you call it destined to be together,it makes me to trow up because i don’t know if you are saying that we must die to be together with the people or group of people that hate our presence but still can not live with our absence .What i dont like about Nigerians is that they use God or spiritual perspective to justify everything including evil and genocide. I appreciate you angle in this discussion but to be frank with you,we are not destined to be together and it is only a black man who can not understand that if you cross a line in human relationship, you give space because no meaningful interaction can ever come out of that relationship again. The Serbs,Albanians Czech,Slovaks,Sudanese etc understood it but we dont want to understand it. Don’t tell me that my sister must be raped and our pregnant mothers disemboweled with our brother buried alive and murdered in millions for us to be destined together.Any  God that destines such is a god of evil. Two can not walk together unless they agree.[amos3v3]

  • Chief Maximus Onu Osuamadi

Dear Amaechi, this Forum is a thought provoking one indeed. I thank God that I discovered this forum. That singular act of yours, by deciding to join the Biafran Armed Forces, at that young age of 15, is inspirational. That was exactly what my brother, Felix Osuamadi did. He was one of the bodyguards to General Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu then, but he never made it back home, but my family thought his death was a supreme price we, the Igbos had to pay, to be who we are today, as Ndigbo. On behalf of the entire Ndigbo race, I say a big ‘THANK YOU’, to you and the rest of the Biafran soldiers, both dead and alive. Look at us, Ndigbo today, we have come a long way, and I believe that one day, just like the Jews were able to convince the United Nation to re-visit the German Holocaust, Ndigbo would be able to do that, as long as we keep teaching our children and grand children, what the Nigerian government did to our people, and the pogrom, our day for restitution would come.

  • Bright andrew

white man stopped slavery, the same people taught us to ask for freedom  and stopped human sacrifice. Are we going to wait for them to teach us that you can not force people to be together?
This is the era of self determination which is among the  third generational human right.
Let us learn because it not good to force some one to be your brother unless their is element of inherent inadequacy in you.You don’t trust us but don’t want us to leave you. We are different please and it is not chest beating as you will call it but we igbos are achievement driven, you can try to blind yourself from that by naming some crimes but we want to be alone and it is only a crime in black world.
One Nigeria is contaminating our values and we need to take it back in our own space where people will appreciate your creativity and talent and be proud of their achievement with out being labeled chest beating by those that hate excellency.Do you just want us to work your Nigeria?if yes,you must appreciate us the way Malaysian appreciates the chines Malays because of their creative and entrepreneurial attributes and the same  way black south African appreciates their whites citizen because of the same attributes that are vital in nation building.

I know it is not possible because the only thing you want is for  igbo to be achieve something and you will benefit by  using to boast Nigerian and be answering the so called giant of Africa but internally doing every thing to wipe out the same people that are bringing those national laurels through collective military and policy genocide. Please before you say i am chest beating, remember we want to be alone to be doing our chest beating because it give us an inner drive to do something to chest beat.

  • bright andrew

Awo taught that by giving us 20 pounds, we will become what you mentioned but he never realized that we are igbos,INTELLIGENT,GOAL DRIVEN,BRIGHT, AND ORGANIZATIONAL. Who are doing the dirty works now? pregnant women swallowing drugs for peanuts and mechanic and vulcaniser taken care of our big cars and some constituting  nuisance when we are having occasions just to eat.
The one Nigeria is getting interesting as our brothers in south south have taken over their resources gradually, every body must come and work themselves out and guess who knows how to work out from nothing,IGBO.who can now afford the new LASU fees without prostituting with deputy governors IGBO.

You are going to work for us as entrepreneurship is now  the vogue because the owners of resources have taken it back so no more owambe and more will turn to alaye to do our dirty works.

  • bright andrew

that’s why you want us around you so you will have element of important when talking us because without us you are nothing.your are taking about oba of benin,go and read the comment of the former attorney general of Midwest a Benin by tribe.

fools that taught that hate will bring prosperity are now confused.don’t tell us about nationalistic and moral ground because we are not the same nation with you rather you are imposing yourself because of the emptiness of your soul which makes it difficult for you to be alone.sleeping dog can never lie  because the children are still wandering and that is why dogs are now having sex with humans in Italy.

The war that was started by ojukwu(the guy who slapped a Yoruba politician,REMEMBER) must be fought. It was the duty of a dutiful soldier to fight the fight. Adekunle, the marine genius, had to fight to win. All the stupid suggestions of allowing biafrans to allowed access the international aids that was stored in lagos was nothing but stupid.Just imagine refreshing the stubborn biafrans to fight us another day.I am an Odua and i support the separating our Nation, but dont let us brutalise each other .Let the Ibos stop travelling to other states especially the North, They dont like u there. We dont mind if you come to the western states as we dont hate you. However we can beat you if there is another war as the Yorubas use their brain and not their muscle as you ibo erronusly think you have. When i was young i endure ibo bullying calling Yoruba lazy NGBATINGBATI.So thanks to people like Obasanjo Adekunle and the rest who gave us respect. If you want to fight again it will not be 20lb bomb it will be 50lb.We flow with the time. VIVA ODUA STATE

  • BiafraSon

Olukoya, If you are being honest to yourself or your
Oduduwa group, you should keep your so-called ‘intellectual’ discussion! Please
    spare us that NONSENSE!
Was it not the same ‘Intellectual’ discussion that Our leader Ikemba sincerely
thought will put some sense into the brick hearts of the Islamic terrorists
    supported strongly by Oduduwa leaders?
Now the Biafrans in the spirit of peace safely sent indigenes of other parts
with their weapons back to their respective regions… What did the Biafras get
back in return… some body parts of their people (Those lucky to be
recovered), none of the soldiers was allowed to go back to East with their
    weapons like their counterparts.
Now that is what you call intelligent right?
You may speak for yourself, if you are different(Which I will doubt), but even
among the ordinary individuals that Oduduwa blood of back stabbing and undue
hatred or anyone or anything Igbos/Biafras, still flow fresh.
But, it is important to note that the war is not yet over for those Oduduwa
folks who took pleasure in mocking the agonies of Biafrans. While Biafrans can
take on all the World super imperialists with their evil weapons, and still
survive against all  odds, will the Oduduwa group, handle only the
    Islamic/Arabs occupying the North?
